Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a one-year position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor in Earth Science, to begin July 1, 2025.
The Department of Geology and Geography at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a one-year position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor in Earth Science, to begin July 1, 2025. We are searching for a geoscientist to develop and teach an intermediate-level undergraduate course on Weather and Atmospheric Science in addition to general education and upper-level courses in geology and physical geography. The teaching load is 3/2.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to accessible and inclusive pedagogy, a demonstrated record of strong teaching at the undergraduate level, and experience mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, and religion, and a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
A completed application should include a cover letter addressing your interest in Mount Holyoke College, CV, and a statement concerning your teaching philosophy and experience. A Ph.D. or A.B.D. is required. Review of applications will begin February 28 and continue until the position is filled.
