Job Summary

Performs dental exams for patients at the MHCC dental clinic.

Essential Duties

• Examines clinical patients for caries, oral lesions, orthognathic relationships, or any other area significant to preventative dental care.
• Evaluates patients’ radiographs for pathology and completes appropriate referral forms.
• Reviews student chart entries and referrals, provides corrections as necessary, and signs as the dentist of record.
• Acts as a consultant for students and faculty in the assessment of patient health histories.
• Emphasizes the importance of patient consent; informs patients of treatment options and follow-through (completion of all recommended care or appropriate referral).

Additional Duties

• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications

• Possession of a current dental license in Oregon (DMD or DDS)
• Eligible to obtain liability insurance
• Three (3) years clinical dental practice

• General/family practice experience preferred, but specialists will be considered
• Possession of a Nitrous Oxide Permit

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, faculty, and staff

Sick Leave
Part-time hourly employees will accrue one (1) hour of sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked.
