Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to individuals in various settings, including home care, nursing homes, and group homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work or long-term care and possess the skills necessary to assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Duties
- Provide direct support to clients in their daily activities, including personal care and hygiene.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met.
- Help clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Implement first aid procedures as required and maintain a safe environment for all clients.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and follow individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care, social work, or long-term care is preferred.
- Familiarity with first aid techniques and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility.
- Experience working in nursing homes or group homes is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
