We are currently seeking to hire a highly dedicated Elementary Reading Interventionist & Coach beginning for the 2025-2026 school year. What Your Day Will Look Like:

The majority of your day will be spent providing small group intensive reading intervention to support student literacy success in grades K-2. Such instruction may be provided either within or outside the students’ classrooms. Additionally, in this role, you will work side-by-side to coach and assist teachers in the alignment of instruction needed to implement various instructional programs and practices. Responsibilities include:

Classroom Support

Increase the academic performance of all students in the area of literacy.

Co-plan with classroom teachers to deliver and support a new core literacy instruction program.

Support and assist teachers in the alignment of instruction to the science of reading practices.

Support teachers in the collection, analysis, and use of data to drive instruction.

Use coaching strategies to assist classroom teachers in building inclusive classrooms and the delivery of effective reading instruction for diverse learners.

Plan and present professional development topics to building/district staff.

Intervention Support and Duties

Oversee MLSS systems and processes at the K-2 level, especially the implementation of Act 20.

Instruct Tier 3 students in a small group or one-to-one instructional model as determined by the school’s MLSS team.

Diagnose, intervene, monitor, and adjust instruction to serve developing readers.

Ensure systematic intervention aligned with response to intervention practices.

Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding progress, strengths, needs and intervention process.

Maintain accurate student progress and behavioral records.

Complete additional tasks as requested by administrators.

Our Ideal Candidate:

REQUIRED: Valid 1777 (MC-EA, EA-A); 1316

PREFERRED: Reading Specialist #5017

Certification/Completion of all ACT 20 required trainings

Secure knowledge of the state standards for English Language Arts at the elementary level.

Secure knowledge of inclusive classrooms and best practice for reading and writing instruction.

Willingness to participate in and lead instructional improvement through a coteaching and coaching model.

Demonstrates ability to build positive, nurturing relationships with all learners.

Ability to be adaptable, collaborative, and have a solution-oriented mindsets, especially during times of change.

Demonstrates good communication skills, including ability to guide and supervise groups of students, maintain confidentiality, and work with students in a positive and motivational manner.

Demonstrates proficient office skills with computers and software.

Demonstrates expertise in instructional strategies, effective research based intervention strategies in conjunction with equitable Multi-Leveled Systems of Support, and expertise using data to diagnose, intervene, monitor and adjust support.

Demonstrates and supports a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Bilingual (Spanish) skills and abilities are a plus.
