Mount Ida High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Social Studies Teacher to inspire students to explore historical events, civic institutions, cultural diversity, and global perspectives while promoting critical thinking, analytical writing, and active citizenship.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and national standards.
Teach social studies content such as U.S. History, World History, Civics, Economics, or Geography.
Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
Assess student progress through formal and informal assessments.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success.
Integrate technology and digital tools into instruction.
Participate in professional development and school events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Political Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Valid teaching certification in Arkansas for secondary social studies.
Prior teaching experience preferred but not required.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
