Mount Indie is seeking a Controller that will work closely with the CFO as well as project management teams and will be responsible for all company accounting operations including budgets, future planning and analysis, and deliverables under GAAP, DMCA, and DCAA.An in-depth knowledge of local and state laws and regulations and a deep understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking is required. What youll do :
Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
Conduct financial planning and analysis
Gather, evaluate, and present financial data to executive teams
Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors
Maximize return and limits risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments
Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans
Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions where needed
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Mentor and support finance team
Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
Support CFO in managing banking operations and internal controls over writing checks and approving wire transfers
Support weekly cash flow analysis and forecasting process related to bank balances, accounts receivable and cash collections
Prepare timely and accurate monthly and year-end financial statements, contract profit reports, and financial analysis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, supported by subledgers that reconcile to the general ledger
Manage the month and year end financial statement accounting close calendar, task assignments and schedule
Manage Accounting System processes and internal controls that comply with US Government Cost Accounting (FAR) requirements.
Interface with Defense Contract Audit Agency representatives in their audits of accounting processes and cost vouchers.
Prepare and submit sales, use, and property tax returns
Requirements :
Bachelors degree in Finance or accounting
7-10 years of hands-on experience as an Accountant or Financial Manager
Expert on GAAP standards and guidelines
Familiarity with budget development and audit activities
1-2 years of hands-on experience with accounting for DoD projects
Demonstrated experience processing billing and invoices
Understanding of purchasing requirements for development and production level work
Experience preparing and submitting contract billings to US Government and DoD projects
Demonstrated understanding of and experience with DCMA and DCAA requirements and processes
Some experience with an integrated ERP Accounting System
DoD Cost accounting (accounting for unallowable costs)
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Nice to have : CPA certification
CMA certification
