Pennsauken Animal Hospital is growing! We are undergoing a large renovation and expansion that will award us the title of largest veterinary practice in Camden County, NJ. Our new building will be equipped with a state-of-the-art surgery suite, in-hospital STAT lab, ICU and Emergency/Urgent Care wing, feline and canine friendly Primary Care wings, and many more exciting medical additions.
We are seeking a full-time Hospital Supervisor who is customer service driven and highly motivated to help provide gold standard patient care.
Our services include wellness, urgent care, sick visits, dentistry, and surgery. We offer digital radiographs, digital dental radiographs, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, and a fully stocked pharmacy. We work hard to maintain relationships with existing clients as well as focusing on community outreach and creating new clients relationships. We pride ourselves on client education ensuring that we answer all questions that clients may have regarding the care of their pet(s). We work very closely with several local rescues and have contracts with local animal control to offer care to many animals within our local communities.
JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to aid in managing and overseeing the operations of the designated department(s) within the hospital. The Hospital Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership across their designated department(s), ensuring compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine and the hospital’s standards of care by department team members. The Hospital Supervisor is also responsible for creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine is delivered. Under the supervision of the Hospital Directors and with the assistance of their respective Medical Coordinator, they will work to plan, lead, and coordinate positive change as it relates to the office activities, oversee the standards of care of his/her respective specialty departments. Hospital Supervisors play a role in helping fulfill Pennsauken Animal Hospital's mission and vision as well as helping create direction for the practice. The Hospital Supervisor may be required to work additional hours beyond a regular clinical work schedule to accomplish the duties of the position.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Work alongside employees and assist with hands on training where possible
● Coordinate departmental meetings with respective Department Head and Lead
● Disseminate relevant information to additional staff and doctors as indicated
● Foster communication and collaboration between departments
● Mentor and work with departmental staff to ensure an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual respect.
● Assist staff where necessary and foster an educational environment.
● Proactively identify solutions to overcome unexpected volume, delays, staffing shortage, etc.
● Coach senior staff in the department regarding expectations and performance and lead by example
● Expected to help enforce hospital policies while on the floor and act as an example for the rest of the staff, regardless of department
● Overseeing all medical records are being completed appropriately. (ie dashboard updates, lab work, medical notes/history, microchips, etc) with adherence to hospital protocols
● Making sure all equipment is functioning properly or reporting issues to directors.
● Ensuring all sterilization protocols are being met
● Working with department liaisons on client floor up where applicable
● Overseeing compliance of Pennsauken Animal Hospitals standards of care

● Negotiation of conflicts and problems to assist the Hospital Management in discussions with staff
● Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation to follow through on all responsibilities in a timely manner.
Minimum requirements
EDUCATION: High School Diploma
- CVT preferred
- Experience:
- 2 years in a multi-doctor facility
- Supervisory experience 2 years
