Reports To: Pharmacy Department Head
Responsibilities:
Maintain Pharmacy with supplies needed for the daily function of the hospital and place orders as needed
Manage pharmacy orders and inventory and anticipate upcoming needs accordingly
Receive prescription refill requests and process them in a timely fashion
Maintain organization of pharmacy area and ensure all areas are free of clutter/debris
Dispense prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care, according to professional standards which meet state and federal legal requirements
Review prescriptions issued by veterinarians to ensure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed
Answer questions and provide information to clients on drug interactions, side effects, and dosage
Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance and security of controlled substances
Enter data to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
2 years of pharmacy technician experience
Knowledge of inventory management and pharmaceuticals
Technical Abilities and Skills:
Ability to deliver exceptional client service
Strong attitude to detail with the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and other business correspondence
Able to demonstrate consistent follow through and completion of tasks
Must be reliable with excellent time management
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Must be able to regularly lift 40 pounds
Compensation and Benefits: Compensation is based on experience and skill level. Full-Time Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; 401k; paid time off; uniforms; discounted veterinary care.
Position: Full-Time work schedule which can include nights, weekends, or holidays.
