Mount Marty University seeks an experienced and visionary Open Rank Professor of Special Education to join our Teacher Education Department. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned academic and scholar to shape and lead our Special Education programs while contributing to the vibrant mission of the university.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will:
- Oversee, reimagine, and teach in our Special Education major and minor programs.
- Teach courses designed to prepare students for K-12 Special Education settings at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Engage with local diocesan and public schools to foster meaningful partnerships and applied learning opportunities for students.
- Actively support the university’s mission and charism through teaching, service, and scholarship.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A PhD in Special Education. Or, a PhD in a related education field, coupled with a master’s degree in advanced special education.
- K-12 teaching experience in special education and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in classrooms and with those in administrative roles.
- A record of scholarly productivity, including publications, research initiatives, grants, or leadership in the field of special education.
- Proven leadership experience in educational settings, such as roles in program coordination, department leadership, or community outreach.
