What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Electrical Specialist position at Mount Nittany Health?
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for maintenance and control of the Medical Center’s heating and air conditioning system and other maintenance functions. Works collaboratively with the Controls Technician to assure proper systems operation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
1) High School diploma or equivalent.
2) Two years of Vocational Technical School or other technical school training (or equivalent) in electronics and/or automatic temperature control preferred.
3) Within one (1) year of hire/transfer, successfully completes Automated Logic, WebCTRL Owner/Operator I Training.
4) Annually achieves Continued Education Credits (CECs) until Automated Logic, WebCTRL Owner/Operator II & III Training is complete.
Experience:
1) Two years in the operation and maintenance/calibration of centralized, automatic temperature control equipment, such as Honeywell, Johnson, or Robert Shaw.
2) Two years in either plumbing or electrical trades, or three years in general maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1) Exhibits good cooperation with management, such as a positive response to applicable improvement issues found in performance reviews or elsewhere; a positive response to instructions or work assignments; a positive approach to improving work skills, communications, and productivity.
2) Ability to work from ladders and scaffolding and be able to work overhead and in cramped quarters.
3) Ability to lift 70 lbs.
4) Demonstrates a proficiency in knowledge, skills, abilities and vocations related to this job description.
License/Certification & Continuing Education:
1) Successful completion of The American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), NFPA-99 “Health Care Facilities Code”, Certificate of Attendance, preferred.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives minimal supervision from the Manager, Facilities Services. Performs all duties in an independent manner with little or no need for direct supervision.
