POSITION SUMMARY
The Technical Administrator (TA) coordinates the technical aspects of implementation, including hardware, processes and decisions, and the project plan. The TA for the Epic project will participate in project scope and direction discussions. The TA will organize and lead technical discussions and provide project management for the technical infrastructure of the Epic implementation. The TA will have the technical background and understanding of the technical infrastructure staff including servers, storage, network, and desktop support teams. The TA is also responsible for ensuring that all implementation tasks are completed within the timelines outlined by the Epic project manager and director. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of Epic Technical functions. This includes solutions like Bridges and functions like Security, Data courier, release management, quality assurance, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
1) Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
1) Two or more years of Linux/Unix experience or Linux/Unix certification.
2) Strong Unix skills using the command ‐ line prompt, including navigating directory structures and file manipulation
3) Understanding of operating system concepts such as user and group ownership and file permissions, file system/volume group configuration, etc.
4) Knowledge of a command shell ﴾Korn, POSIX, Bourne, or C﴿, plus languages and utilities such as awk, sed, and Perl
5) Ability to create, understand, and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance procedures
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1) Knowledge of system development methodology and principles of project management.
2) Ability to analyze and solve problems.
3) Technical knowledge and understanding of clinical systems.
4) Ability to communicate effectively with staff.
5) Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1) Ensuring that technical requirements and tasks are understood, clearly communicated, and executed on time.
2) Updating technical and interface project plans, technical trackers, and other work plans
3) Participating in core project leadership discussions and decisions
4) Acting as a liaison between the technical team and the application team
5) Ensuring that technical staffing levels are maintained, and that training and certification requirements are met.
6) Maintaining close communication with the Epic leadership team, Applications managers, CIO, IT leaders, and system representatives.
7) Coordinating production and non-production hardware and software support for your Epic
8) Infrastructure including servers, network, storage, backup, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and desktop devices.
9) Tracking technical integration issues and coordinating issue resolution.
10) Ensuring that the systems teams provide routine system monitoring and that issues are mitigated.
11) Leading infrastructure capacity planning and monitoring activities.
12) Assessing and procuring Caché and third-party licenses as needed.
13) Working with application and technical teams and project and organization leadership to develop, document.
