What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Administration Extern position at Mount Nittany Health?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Intern contributes to the Mount Nittany Medical Center Patient Care Services/Nursing Administration team while pursuing their health care career interests. Interns receive mentorship from executives and fellow professionals in the medical center departments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High school education required.
- Currently enrolled in a MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent master-level degree from an accredited program.
Experience:
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software required
- Conducts business in a professional and cordial manner that upholds the integrity and reputation of Mount Nittany Health.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures.
- Excellent prioritizing and problem solving skills.
License/Certification/Registration:
None Required
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment. May require occasional evening or weekend work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires prolonged sitting and some bending, stooping and reaching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supports the health system by gaining a better understanding of the role of the administration as it relates to Mount Nittany Health and its function as part of a fully integrated health system.
