Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Job Specialty : Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU), Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Days 0645-1915; 3 12-Hour Shifts Every Other Weekend, Every Other Holiday

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience

License : Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania

Certifications :

American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), renew every two years.
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), renew every two years.
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); may be waived if staffing permits, renew every two years.
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, renew as needed.

Must-Have :

Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to function effectively as a team member and liaison between patient and staff.

Professional communication and interaction with patients, families, and co-workers.

Job Description :

Provide professional nursing care to treat human responses to life-threatening problems, based on the American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN) Standards.

Assess patients' needs and develop and implement a plan of care.

Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care and other treatments to protect, maintain, and restore health for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric ages.

Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and life-threatening emergency situations and take appropriate action.

Demonstrate a high level of mental and emotional tolerance, tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when dealing with patients, families, and co-workers.
