Ski Patrol Director
$24-$27/hour depending upon Experience
Summary:
As the Ski Patrol Director, you will oversee the safety and emergency response operations on the slopes, ensuring a secure environment for all guests. Your core skills in first aid, CPR, and emergency management will be essential in this role. With premium leadership abilities, you will guide and manage the ski patrol team, fostering a culture of safety and excellence. Additionally, your relevant skills in customer service and communication will enhance guest experiences, making you a vital part of our organization’s commitment to providing a secure and enjoyable skiing environment.
Assists guests with medical and safety issues by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Delegates assignments to Patroller and Crew Chief as necessary.*
- Completes the Patrollers’ schedules ensuring adequate coverage.*
- Interviews and selects staff.*
- Coordinates fund raising activities for the Mt. Peter’s Chapter of the National Ski Patrol Association.*
- Assists guests with medical issues and emergencies.*
- Assists mountain operations in daily trail maintenance, as well as opening and closing.*
- Assists mountain operations with daily tasks as required.*
- Stays current on daily mountain reports and general mountain information.*
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Certificates and Licenses:
· Certified NYS EMT or hold an outdoor emergency care card
· CPR or AED certified
· National Ski Patrol member

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages approximately 10 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 30 employees in the Patrol Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises approximately 30 employees (non-supervisory). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Language Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software and internet software.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years prior patrol experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
