Position : Lead Help Desk Technician

Reports To : Director of Technology

FLSA Classification : Non-Exempt

Responsibilities :

  • To support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the School.
  • Attend and participate in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position.
  • Monitor the helpdesk and prioritize responses and resource requests in real-time.
  • Basic troubleshooting of hardware, software applications, servers, networking and telephone systems.
  • Escalate problems to the appropriate IT staff member when necessary.
  • Lead in collaborating teacher training with divisions based on the division principal priority.
  • Manage users and security and data integrity settings in the Veracross database.
  • Prepare documents for employee onboarding and participate in their training.
  • Lead collection of devices and account changes for departing employees.
  • Monitor inventory levels for key equipment and facilitate orders to maintain device readiness.
  • Manage Google Workspace users and applications.
  • Setup and move equipment for users including computers and peripherals.
  • Monitor and manage Chromebook inventory with a knowledge for including basic repairs.
  • Manage Access control for students and staff.
  • Assist with other projects, tasks, or duties as assigned by the Director of IT.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or work experience aligning with described responsibilities.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience preferably information technology.
  • Proficient knowledge of active directory.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure network such as hubs, switches, telephone and wiring.
  • Proficient knowledge of PC hardware and operating system.
  • A mission-driven individual who demonstrates an eagerness to serve in a faith-based academic environment & genuine ability to connect with and serve young people in a Christian community.
  • Communications : Effective written, verbal, and editing communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
  • Collaboration : Has student-centered focus and ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including students, families, faculty, staff, and community partners.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
  • Manage equipment, including a phone, computer, camera, video equipment, and other electronic devices.
  • Use muscles or limbs to Lift boxes or items under 30 lbs.
  • Occasionally work nights and weekends in support of departmental school activities.
