Job Overview
We are seeking a competent, dedicated and enthusiastic Host/Expo to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Host/Expo greets incoming diners and plays a crucial role in ensuring that our guests receive their orders promptly and accurately, contributing to an exceptional dining experience. Applicants should be willing to attend to the restaurant's atmosphere, organization, cleanliness and overall smooth function. This position requires strong communication skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff.
You’ll be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our guests' experiences. Positive attitude is non-negotiable, and working well with others is paramount.
Responsibilities
- Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
- Attend to customers upon entrance
- Present restaurant menus seat dining guests
- Take occasional carryout and delivery orders
- Answer phone calls and assist diners with meal reservations
- Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
- Deal with occasional complaints or problems with a positive attitude
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to the dining area efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure that all orders are complete and presented beautifully before serving to guests.
- Assist servers in managing guest requests and ensuring their needs are met promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area, including clearing tables as needed.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding order status and any special requests from guests.
- Uphold high standards of guest relations by providing friendly and attentive service at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent phone etiquette.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding guest relations.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 36 per week
