JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Director of Youth Clinical Services provides clinical and administrative supervision of youth and family clinical services and staff to ensure the efficient, effective and ethical delivery of services to individuals. Oversees clinical programs such MH/SA Outpatient, MH Skill-building, Therapeutic Day Treatment, Intensive In-home as well as other services that will be developed to meet community needs. Provides counseling and case management services as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision of Out-Patient Counseling, Intensive In-Home, Mental Health Skill-building, Therapeutic Day Treatment, Crisis Intervention, Home-based Counseling, Life Coaching, Truancy Intervention, Same Day Access, IACCT, Juvenile Competency Restoration Services. As community needs are identified, other services may be developed and supervised by this position.
- Will hire and train new employees. Encourage opportunities for professional development and provide individual staff with ongoing feedback regarding performance. Complete annual performance evaluations with supervisees.
- Monitor program budgets, purchases, and targeted billing units monthly for all supervised staff.
- Responsible for monitoring any changes in regulations, licensure, or guidelines as related to program area and communicating this information to staff.
- To engage in ongoing evaluation of clinical practice and of services rendered to individuals. To comply with all policies and procedures established by Mount Rogers Community Services, DBHDS, DMAS, and other regulatory bodies; keeps records up-to-date and adheres to confidentiality of consumer information.
- To actively participate in meetings such as supervision, clinical staffing, business meetings, and committees as assigned; utilizing these meetings for active problem solving and to enhance a team approach to decision making. Keep mandatory trainings up-to-date and to provide consultation and educational services with other agency programs and with other agencies or organizations.
- To provide liaison services to community stakeholders and agencies in order to identify service needs and resolve issues regarding existing services.
- Provide counseling and case management services as needed. Serve as LMHP, when needed, to provide necessary assessments for program admissions and reviews, as well as to provide the clinical approval for outpatient billing.
OTHER DUTIES:
- May provide forensic evaluations or restoration services or supervise those providing restoration services
- Will assist director in networking and collaborating with other agencies in the community's system of care within the assigned location of lead clinician.
- Will complete other job related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive knowledge of mental disorders and substance abuse
- Skills in assessment and diagnosis
- Knowledge of counseling theories and practice utilized to treat mental illness and substance abuse
- Knowledge of a broad range of treatment modalities and development of treatment plans
- Oral and written communication skills
- Where applicable, knowledge of evaluation tools for psychological testing
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Licensed Mental Health Professional credential required.
Experience in supervision and knowledge of budget management preferred.
Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
