About the Role
Mt. Rogers Community Services is seeking a Developmental Disability Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement person-centered plans that reflect the individual's strengths and preferences.
- Administer and document medications to individuals served in accordance with physician's orders and established procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of services and supports.
- Participate in meetings and reviews to discuss individual progress and adjust plans as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year's experience working with persons with developmental disabilities.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid driver's license and copy of DMV safe driving record are also necessary.
- Candidates must be willing to complete medication aide training within five months of hire and undergo a criminal background and DSS registry check.
