Mount Rogers Community Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Geriatric Mental Health Specialist to join our team.
About the Job
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health, with experience working with geriatric populations. They will be responsible for providing crisis support services to individuals at risk of hospitalization, as well as coordinating regional hospital liaison services with Community Service Boards (CSBs) and the DBHDS Community Integration Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with nursing home staff to provide support and guidance related to managing behavioral disorders.
- Provide liaison and counseling services to at-risk geriatric population throughout the region.
- Coordinate regional hospital liaison services with CSBs and the DBHDS Community Integration Office.
- Maintain recordkeeping through electronic health records, adhering to regulatory standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and/or currently enrolled in a clinical Master's program from an accredited college or university in a human services-related field or healthcare administration.
- At least one year of experience working with geriatric or mental health populations.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
