Job Description

Job Title : CT Technologist

Job Specialty : MSB

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12pm-7pm, flexible; for a tech who can perform X-ray, CT scan, and bone density.

Guaranteed Hours : 37.50 hours per week

Experience : At least 1 year of CT experience; Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program

License : Licensing with the NYS Department of Health as a Radiologic Technologist

Certifications : ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, BLS certification

Must-Have :

New York State License (L.R.T)
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current CT certification
Proficiency in English (Read, Write, Speak)

Job Description :

Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.

Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper calibration before any patient study is conducted.

Inject patients with radioactive material as per physician's orders following the prescribed protocol.

Adhere to all departmental documentation policies by completing all necessary logs, manuals, and charge documents, and reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.

Conduct quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follow radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle.

Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.

Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.

Receive radiopharmaceuticals on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verify activity level of doses prior to administration.

Perform CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.

Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
