Details of Research Project: The postdoctoral researcher will work under the guidance of Dr. Petralia

on the development of advanced statistical and computational methods for analyzing and interpreting

large-scale datasets from genomic, epigenomic, and proteomics technologies. The postdoc will be

responsible for analyzing multiple datasets derived from various genomic technologies, including

single-cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics. In addition, the candidate will collaborate closely

with Dr. Ungaro to apply these sophisticated statistical tools in studying inflammatory bowel disease,

with the aim of identifying pathways that contribute to disease initiation and progression.

Responsibilities

Technical Duties:

  • Develop and validate statistical and computational methods for analyzing large-scale genomic

data.

  • Analyze multiple datasets derived from various genomic technologies, including single-cell

sequencing and spatial transcriptomics.

  • Apply the developed methods to investigate inflammatory bowel disease.

Qualifications

Educational and other Requirements for the position: PhD in computational biology, statistics or similar

field

Experience Required: Prior experience in the analysis of bulk and single-cell sequencing data using

various computational tools.

Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: Development/validation of new computational methods and

analysis of large-scale genomics data to improve our understanding of different diseases.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
