Process Improvement Manager II -Nursing Administration-Full Time-Days

The Process Improvement Manager II (Nursing Administration) will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of process improvement initiatives within MSH nursing services. The Process Improvement Manager II (Nursing Administration) plans, manages and executes complex improvement initiatives and evaluates the impact. The ideal candidate will possess a Lean certification or a comparable certification, along with extensive knowledge and experience in implementing standard work to drive efficiency and improve patient outcomes. This role is vital for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and optimizing nursing processes to enhance the quality of care provided to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of process improvement initiatives within MSH nursing services to enhance operational efficiency and patient care quality.
  • Collaborate with the nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to identify areas for improvement, establish goals, and develop strategies to achieve measurable outcomes using standard work methodologies.
  • Train and mentor nursing staff on Lean principles and standard work practices, ensuring a thorough understanding of their roles in the process improvement efforts.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance with standard work processes, providing feedback and support to nursing teams as necessary.
  • Analyze data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of implemented improvements, presenting findings to leadership and recommending further actions as needed.
  • Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement by encouraging staff engagement and participation in improvement activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to nursing and process improvement.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

Bachelors' Degree (Masters Preferred)

Experience Requirements

  • 3 years of combined professional experience and/or graduate-level education relevant to healthcare operations, data analysis, strategic planning and process improvement including at least 1 year of directly managing staff in a professional setting or in a consulting model.
  • Lean certification or comparable certification with a strong understanding of process improvement methodologies.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing standard work within a nursing or healthcare setting, resulting in improved patient outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to nursing.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $87,692.00 - $131,538.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
