Responsibilities
Role & Responsibilities:
- Candidate will be responsible for covering the adult inpatient floors
- Will provide services that evaluate and treat patients for speech, language and cognition, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
- Must be familiar with tracheotomy and vent dependent patients as well as Passy Muir valve evaluations and treatment
- Communicates findings and concerns related to patient care to other members of disciplinary team. This includes, but is not limited to, MD’s, clinical nutrition staff, nursing staff, PA’s, radiology staff.
- Ability to perform objective testing preferred.
- Ability to perform Modified Barium Swallow Study/Video Fluoroscopy and FEES preferred
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology required
- New York State Speech-Language Pathology license required
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency as well as previous experience in acute care or related medical setting
