Description

The Director for Data Management will lead a team of business analysts and programmers to meaningfully organize data sets and metrics to be used by business intelligence groups, analysts and researchers throughout Mount Sinai Health System.


Responsibilities
  1. Manage data migration requirements and processes.
  2. Partner with IT to coordinate requirements gathering for the integration and staging of data, and the development and maintenance of the data warehouse and data marts, for use by analysts throughout the organization.
  3. Make recommendation to Data Steward Council for organizing data
  4. Propose business definitions for new/undefined metrics and test business definitions established by data steward council.
  5. Prioritize requests for reporting and dashboard development and allocate resources as needed to meet the demand.
  6. Manage data repositories used by third party data partners.
  7. Interface with IT to implement mastering and mapping once development and testing are complete.
  8. Interface with hospital leadership and key stakeholders to determine and communicate needs and requirements, and align Mount Sinai Health System’s data analytics tools and resources with business initiatives, goals and strategies.
  9. Train, lead, and mentor managerial and technical staff.

Qualifications

Four-year university degree in relevant business, technology or healthcare concentration or equivalent experience

  • 5-10 years of Healthcare experience
  • 5 years of analytics experience as it relates to Healthcare.
  • Experience leading an analytics team.
  • Experience in a complex data warehouse or database environment.
  • Experience with Tableau, Diver and Info Assist required.
  • Proven ability in project management and all phases of technical and project documentation.
  • Basic understanding of database architecture
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of data governance and data stewardship.
  • Successful work performance demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively, partner with team and other divisions, use productive work methods, exercise sound judgment and display initiative and innovation on the job.
  • Ability to summarize detailed data into an actionable recommendation for audiences of varying backgrounds.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $115494 - $173241 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
