IT Manager Workplace Technology Services - Icahn School of Medicine - Days Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, Req#3022217

The IT Manager is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the operations of an information technology area of responsibility. Plan, develop, troubleshoot, enhance and maintain systems, procedures and applications for operating efficiency. 


Responsibilities
  • Leads and Develops Workplace Technology Services (WTS) Staff for the ICAHN School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) - Communicates clear job expectations; plans, monitors, and evaluates job performance. Provides coaching, professional development, and feedback to enhance staff capabilities. Maintains a positive and collaborative team environment, addressing performance concerns and fostering service excellence.
  • Delivers Exceptional Customer Service - Promotes a culture of service excellence by prioritizing responsiveness, quality support, and collaboration. Serves as the first point of escalation for technology-related issues and ensures timely resolution to support staff, faculty, and students. 
  • Collaborates Across DTP and Institutional Teams - Partners with other teams to coordinate system implementations, manage project delivery, and support technology outages or disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on education, research, and clinical operations.
  • Facilitates End User-Focused IT Solutions - Collaborates with academic, clinical, and administrative staff to gather end user requirements, design user-centered solutions, and create comprehensive project plans. Oversees project timelines, staffing, and system development milestones to ensure successful technology enhancements.
  • Manages Technology Assets and Budget Planning - Oversees hardware inventory, systems accounts, and software assets. Provides input on annual budget planning and procurement to align staff and hardware resources with institutional priorities.
  • Supports Strategic Technology Initiatives - Drives the delivery of effective and efficient IT services aligned with the ISMMS goals. Supports the implementation of innovative technology strategies that enhance learning, research, and patient care environments.
  • Advises on Technology Strategies and Policies - Recommends IT strategies, policies, and operational procedures by assessing organizational outcomes, identifying challenges, analyzing trends, and anticipating future needs.
  • Oversees System Development and Maintenance - Manages the design and specification of system enhancements, working with internal and external programming resources as needed. Ensures systems are reliable, secure, and optimized for end user needs.
  • Ensures System Performance and End User Support - Oversees system maintenance, software updates, and troubleshooting. Prioritizes end user support by providing timely solutions, resolving escalations, and maintaining robust documentation.
  • Champions Continuous Improvement and Reporting - Reports operational performance and challenges to leadership while proposing effective solutions. Actively contributes to short- and long-term planning for IT services that support the ISMMS’s mission.
  • Ensures Compliance and Accountability - Ensures IT staff and end users adhere to institutional and departmental compliance and security requirements and standards. Maintains accurate documentation and records to meet regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Performs other related duties as required. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in business, computer science or related field is preferred, or combination of relevant I.T. experience and technical or on-the-job IT training, with some supervision preferred.
  • 5 years (higher preferred) in the information technology field or its equivalent.
  • Licensing: None but certifications relevant to area of IT are preferred

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $109000 - $163695 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
