Supply and Equipment Handler A-Mount Sinai West
Responsible for delivering and retrieving equipment between the equipment storage area and designated patient areas. Cleans and decontaminates equipment in accordance with Mount Sinai Infection Control policies. Performs related record keeping functions as required.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve equipment from soiled utility rooms, patient rooms, Biomed, and associated care areas. Equipment list includes: infusion pumps, pain control pumps, sequential compression devices (Flowtron), enteral feeding pumps, refrigerators, and other ancillary equipment as needed.
- Clean and decontaminate equipment for recirculation into patient care areas and deliver patient-ready equipment to maintain adequate par levels on units
- Retrieve, restock, and deliver isolation carts, PD Carts, and other equipment carts as needed.
- Fulfill equipment orders received through EPIC and via phone. Ensure all documents are filled out completely and that EPIC Rover application is used properly.
- Review Biomed Tags for Service Dates or broken equipment tags and deliver equipment requiring service/maintenance to Biomed, and retrieve equipment when services are complete.
- Conduct daily inventory of equipment and maintain minimum levels to assure availability for patient care needs.
- Performs equipment cleaning and storing of all equipment returned to equipment storage area before they are reissued to patients.
- Demonstrate ability to set priorities, problem-solve, and use sound good judgment in challenging situations, and be flexible.
- Maintains a safe, clean, functional environment, which includes keeping equipment and supplies in a neat orderly fashion.
- Conduct weekly inventory of supplies and ensure correct levels are maintained to complete restocking of Isolation and PD carts
- Must take all supplies out of boxes and placed in the appropriate location.
- Greets visitors, and answers telephone promptly and courteously. Provides information when appropriate.
- Carry pager,or Rover and/or Vocera pendant and respond to requests in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Exhibit interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with coworkers and other members of the health care team.
- Retrieve bins used for reprocessing of disposable accessories.
- Perform other job related duties as required.
- When needed, support patient transporter activities.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years work experience in a hospital environment preferred

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $24.7405 - $26.887 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
