Job Description
Job Title : Pediatric Clinical Nurse - RN Float Pool
Job Specialty : Pediatrics
Job Duration : 13 months
Shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM (3x12 4th shift required per month, Every Other Weekend)
Guaranteed Hours : 34.50 per week
Experience : Minimum 2 years of hospital experience
License : Registered Nurse with current registration in New York State
Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Must-Have : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Job Description :
- Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship-Centered Care.
- Use the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational standards.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking in care management.
- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and post-hospital planning, delegate appropriately.
- Educate patients and caregivers, anticipate needs and readiness to learn, about their care plan, transition, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, demonstrating effective resource allocation.
- Role model the principles of Relationship-Centered Care through key actions like Admission Welcome and Bedside Shift Reports.
- Consider patients' values, preferences, cultural diversity, and knowledge in care.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Use evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
- Initiate service recovery for concerns and escalate to relevant management as needed.
- Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening.
- Support staff use of evidence-based practices to understand patients' perceptions of care.
- Conduct Purposeful Hourly Rounding on assigned patients, addressing key concerns.
- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrate crucial clinical skills and knowledge for quality and safety.
- Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional guidelines.
- Engage in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes.
