Responsibilities :
- Coordinates, monitors and maintains department activities to ensure timely, accurate and efficient processing of purchasing needs for the FANS department.
- Leads FANS Department Managers in forecasting supply needs and presents alternatives for best supplies / suppliers. Participates with product presentations and demonstrations. conducts research for new products that would have benefit for the cost center.
- Validates department and hospital cost-saving initiatives and their expected impact on the general ledger.
- Maintains proper inventory levels of all supplies, including emergency supplies, ensuring proper rotation of date sensitive items and security of inventory.
- Oversees adjustments and product returns as necessary; coordinates with Receiving and Accounts Payable to ensure the appropriate processing.
- Responsible for all aspects of receiving, proper storage procedures, temperature maintenance, inventory rotation and sanitation to meet all USDA Food Code regulations.
- Directly oversees Supply Techs positions.
- Coordinates staffing schedule to ensure proper staffing coverage consistent with the approved department FTE levels and overtime targets.
- Responsible for administering CBORDS's Net-Unit Ordering system and reporting.
- Administer all department product recall, quality assurance and alerts via ECRI and vendor / suppliers. Initiates prescribed action as appropriate.
