Description
The Practice Surgical Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling ambulatory surgeries and procedures and follow-up appointments for patients. Obtains pre-authorizations for procedures and diagnostic tests as requested by the physician.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the coordination of all surgeries and procedures.
- Verifies patient demographics and obtains pre-certification from insurance carriers for all surgeries and procedures.
- Records reservations and pre-admit data in prevailing institutional system.
- Arranges patient pre-testing with appropriate departments and is responsible for obtaining patient medical clearance.
- May place surgical confirmation calls in advance of scheduled surgery or procedure date.
- Serves as a liaison between referring physicians and surgeons for the communication of clinical data and to determine scheduling, etc.
- Collects and distributes appropriate paperwork to internal and external parties to coordinate surgeries.
- Schedules post-operative follow-up visits with providers.
- Performs other related duties.

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.5 - $27 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses / incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
