Addiction Institute of Mount Sinai is recruiting a Clinical Psychologist for a full-time position.

As a member of the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Adult Ambulatory Psychiatry at Mount Sinai West, the full-time Psychologist will provide direct clinical services (including intakes, individual and group psychotherapy) to a diverse population of patients age 18 in an outpatient OASAS licensed clinic serving the Mount Sinai West Community.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and crisis intervention
  • Provision of care in an interpersonally and culturally sensitive manner
  • Timely documentation of care in accordance with NYS OASAS standards and best practices
  • Assistance with quality assurance and improvement activities
  • Teach and supervise psychology/psychiatry trainees
  • Performance other job-related responsibilities as requested
  • A commitment to addressing the social determinants of health and antiracism in clinical practice

Academic status

The position entails academic appointment with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology and completion of an APA accredited year-long internship is required. Candidates must be licensed or license-eligible in the state of New York
  • Computer literacy required, including word processing
  • Evidence of experience in providing evidence-based treatment to a diverse population and clients who present with substance misuse issues.
  • Demonstrated competence in crisis intervention, assessing need for psychiatric hospitalization, handling psychiatric emergencies, and supervising referrals for inpatient care
  • Demonstrated excellence in diagnosis, including mastery of diagnostic nomenclature, and in understanding best practices in diagnostic evaluations
  • Demonstrated excellence in multicultural competency

Experience and interest in teaching and supervision of trainees

  • Bilingual candidates highly encouraged to apply

Compensation range from 125K to 145K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
