Job Description

Job Title : Clinical Nurse

Job Specialty : Coronary Care Intensive Care Unit (CSICU)

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Flexible Scheduling, 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM, every other weekend

Guaranteed Hours : 34.5 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of Post Open Heart and Cardiac Care Unit experience; 1 year of travel experience for travel positions is preferred

License : Registered Nurse (RN) License

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS)

Must-Have :

  • Experience with EPIC system is highly preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing is preferred; an Associate degree in nursing is considered with relevant experience or active matriculation in a BSN Program

Job Description :

  • Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care through the application of the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
  • Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and efficiently allocate material resources.
  • Role model the tenets of Relationship Centered Care, including Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.
  • Use evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients' perceptions of care and establish a therapeutic relationship with patients and families.
  • Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care and implement process improvement strategies.
  • Engage in peer and institutional review processes to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinate with nursing management to ensure resource adequacy.
  • Contribute to professional development by advancing clinical competence from novice to expert, supporting colleagues, and encouraging lifelong learning.
