Job Description

Job Title : CT Technologist

Job Specialty : MSB

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Overnight, 12am-8am, 5x7.50 Hr

Guaranteed Hours : 37.50

Experience : At least 1 year of CT experience

License : New York State License (L.R.T)

Certifications : American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current CT certification, BLS certification

Must-Have :

Licensing with NYS DOH in Radiologic Technology
ARRT certification in Radiography and CT
BLS certification
Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program

Job Description :

Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.

Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper function before any patient study.

Inject patients with radioactive material per physician's order following the prescribed protocol.

Observe all department documentation policies by maintaining logs, manuals, and charge documents; report equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.

Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follow radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principle.

Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for radiologist interpretation.

Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.

Verify proper receipt and activity level of radiopharmaceuticals upon delivery and before administration.

Perform CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.

Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient needs prior to, during, and after visits.

Proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write)
