Compensation
Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The Credentialing Assistant provides clerical assistance to the Credential Coordinator. He/she will perform administrative tasks relating to healthcare practitioner credentialing. The credentialing assistant will organize, maintain, and verify all aspects of the process and maintain current practitioners’ files as well as data entry into the billing system. He/she must have strong computer experience to assist in maintaining the credential files within the practice management system. The Credentialing Assistant possess knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party credentialing specifications
Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- High School diploma required
- Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience And Skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- 1-3 Years in related experience, i.e. medical staff office, credentialing preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial insurance payer enrollment preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicaid regulations preferred.
- Possess team skills and interpersonal skills.
- Typing, telephone, and written communication skills.
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Good organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Physician Billing and/or payer enrollment experience preferred
License/Certifications
