Compensation
Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
Work to limit the physiological and psychological effects of cardiac illness by provision of
a safe, therapeutic, high quality program of exercise and appropriate educational
activities in a cost-effective manner. Actively promote primary and secondary prevention
of cardiovascular disease in patient population and community by education and
example. Develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Assesses
cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal
rehabilitation. Creates educational materials and sessions for patients. Familiar with a
variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience
and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- BS/BA in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology, MS/MA preferred.
Experience And Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Experience in exercise program planning, supervision and counseling cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation patients.
- Cardiac and respiratory monitoring and arrhythmia identification.
License/Certifications
- BLS or equivalent required.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Must obtain ACLS within 6 months of employment.
Working Conditions
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
- Mechanical exercise equipment.
- Frequent prolonged standing/walking.
- Ability to bend, reach to perform warm up and cool down exercise.
- Ability to work in cold temperature environment.
