Job Description
Job Title : Clinical Nurse - ICU
Job Specialty : Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Job Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Day Shift, 7 AM - 7 : 30 PM, every other weekend
Guaranteed Hours : 37.50 hours per week
Experience : Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
License : Registered Nurse (RN) License
Certifications : BLS, ACLS
Must-Have : BSN required, EPIC experience highly preferred, 1 year travel experience for travel positions (not required for per diem positions)
Job Description :
- Deliver patient care by incorporating relationship-centered care practices and using the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management.
- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
- Prioritize aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning postoperative care, delegating to others as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers, anticipating needs and readiness to learn, about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, demonstrating effective resource allocation.
- Role model practices of Relationship Centered Care, including admission welcomes, bedside shift reports, and discharge wrap-ups.
- Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and families, considering their values and preferences in all aspects of care.
- Use evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
- Initiate service recovery for patients and family members who have concerns, escalating issues to the appropriate managerial staff as needed.
- Demonstrate clinical skills and knowledge crucial for quality and safety in the patient population served, implementing process improvement strategies.
- Engage in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies.
- Adhere to patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to patient care, ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
- Participate in professional development by advancing clinical competence, encouraging a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, life-long learning, and innovation.
