Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester
General Job Summary: Vital to the success of organization with providing OrthoCincy patients and visitors with a premier orthopaedic experience and focusing on their individual needs while assisting in the therapy departments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greets each patient and visitor in a welcoming and inviting manner and aids in setting up equipment or treatment areas to assist therapists with care and safety of patients.
- Treats each patient, visitor and coworker with compassion, devotion and respect.
- Provides compassionate support to patients and visitors in the therapy clinic.
- Performs housekeeping duties of the facility by routine and periodic cleaning to help maintain order and cleanliness throughout the facility.
- Assisting with laundry for linens used in the therapy department, MRI and Procedure suites.
- Assist therapist/assistants in selected procedures, according to their directions, to aid in patient care in the facility.
- Maintain daily, weekly and monthly logs for cleaning, stocking supplies and performing monthly safety checks.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, and co-workers.
- Takes initiative in performing additional tasks that may be necessary or in the best interest of the department/practice.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
- Must be Federal Work Study eligible
- Must be customer service oriented with a team environment focus
- Willing to work at multiple locations
- Well organized, punctual, and reliable
- The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University
- Previous medical knowledge, CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred
