Job Description
The Academic Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Didactic Education to promote program success with a strong focus on the didactic phase. The Academic Coordinator in conjunction with the Director of Didactic Education will support the development, evaluation, and maintenance of the academic curriculum compliant with accreditation requirements. Additionally, the Academic Coordinator will coordinate the delivery of the curriculum including communicating with and scheduling instructional faculty, planning learning related activities and labs, helping to identify that the required and outlined learning outcomes and instructional objectives are taught and evaluated, and supporting student assessment and monitoring.
The Academic Coordinator will directly report to the Director of Didactic Education and ultimately the Program Director.
Continued employment is contingent on successful accreditation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide academic instruction and evaluate student performance as assigned including serving as course instructor of record for didactic courses. Support the alignment between what is expected and taught according to accreditation requirements. Assist the Director of Didactic Education in coordinating the didactic curriculum, supporting and managing instructors, evaluating their performance, and preparing for activities and labs. Serve as a faculty advisor to students and monitor advisee progress in the program. Actively participate in the processes of:

- designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum, and
- evaluating the program.
- Participate in site visits for the purposes of evaluating sites, preceptors, and student experiences, as needed.
- Support the PA program in ongoing accreditation activities aligned with professional standards.
- Participate in program committees as assigned by the Program Director.
- Participate in student training and orientation sessions.
- Facilitate small group learning activities as assigned.
- Participate in admissions activities to include prospective student recruitment, evaluation, and selection.
- Maintain and update educational equipment and online learning resources.
- Maintain a collegial learning and working environment for the faculty, staff, students, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Stay current with trends and developments in PA education and clinical practice.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the field through scholarly activities, presentations, or publications if applicable.
- One release day per week for clinical practice or other approved activity if applicable.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Didactic Education, Program Director, Associate Program Director, or Dean.
