Job Description
The Director of Admissions Operations directs all aspects of the admissions operations team. It is the responsibility of the Director to strategically develop and utilize current and future processes that support the recruitment cycle for all student cohorts. The Director is charged with the task of utilizing technology to provide and support a better experience for future students, while providing leadership and problem solving for departments who work with the Office of Admissions. The Director will dynamically lead the efforts of the admissions operations team to strategically develop, document, and integrate processes and data flow to help the University achieve enrollment objectives.

The Director is charged with the task of utilizing technology to provide and support a better experience for future students, while providing leadership and problem solving for departments who work with the Office of Admissions. The Director will dynamically lead the efforts of the admissions operations team to strategically develop, document, and integrate processes and data flow to help the University achieve enrollment objectives.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of data operations for the Office of Admissions.
- Serve as a member of the admissions senior leadership team with direct input and responsibility for University recruitment and enrollment goals.
- Be the lead Slate administrator for the Office of Admissions.
- Assist admissions leadership in data-driven decisions by creating weekly funnel reports, budget reports, and statistical evaluations as required to monitor enrollment goal progress.
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and manage staff, and processes for all data functions, mailings, and communications with prospective students to the University.
- In partnership with the admissions leadership team, develop, implement, and manage all communication plans for prospective students.
- Develop and lead processes for the review, update, and editing of all admissions letters and materials.
- Develop innovative approaches to operational and data management needs that keep up with the fast-paced and dynamic Admissions Office. This includes initiating and maintaining relationships with all admissions third-party vendors.
- Act as project manager and developer to increase the effectiveness of processes and systems concerning enrollment (i.e., database testing, new technology initiatives, data loads, etc.).
- Supervise the admissions operations staff and oversee the training and management of the operations team.
- Supervise and coordinate with the admissions operations team all admissions events including but not limited to Saturday sessions, daily tours, Open House, Admitted Student Day, etc.
- Be the primary conduit between Admissions, Information Technology, Institutional Research, Financial Aid, and the Registrar's office to develop and promote an effective flow of data.
- Provide support and training to functional experts as needed.
- Be actively involved in the overall enrollment and retention efforts of the University, specifically contributing to the Admissions leadership team. Work closely with the Admissions leadership team to serve various student groups and contribute data to decision-making processes.
- Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s is preferred
- Minimum four years of experience working with database systems in an admissions office environment.
- Minimum of three years of successful management/supervision experience and demonstrated leadership abilities.
- In-depth experience with Slate CRM is strongly preferred, should be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to recognize the potential for errors with processes and reports, and excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn new systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of initiative and ability to work independently.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and understanding of the needs of undergraduate students.
- Ability and willingness to travel on an occasional basis.
