STATE TESTED NURSING ASSISTANT (STNA)
Essential Functions of State Tested Nursing Assistants:
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor towards residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
- Assist in daily care of residents such as bathing, grooming, dressing, transferring, repositioning, and other activities of daily living.
- Assists in feeding residents.
- Ensure that all resident care is provided in a dignified and respectful manner.
- Promote and protect resident rights, treat residents with dignity and respect, protect resident’s personal belongings.
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment.
- Answers call lights promptly.
- Follows work assignments and/or work schedules.
- Completes electronic charting by shift-end.
- Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain certification and enhance quality of care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Certification: State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification required.
- Experience: Good documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills; must be able to use proper lift technique and lift equipment to move, lift and transfer residents.
