Mountain Alarm Fire & Security a Member of Pye Barker Fire & Safety is recruiting a Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our Test and Inspection Team in St George, Utah.
This position is responsible for the testing and inspection of the fire sprinkler systems. A qualified individual will have the knowledge and skills to insure proper operation, and maintenance of fire sprinkler equipment in both commercial and residential sites. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and performing system checks. This individual will be identifying system deficiencies, preparing accurate and timely inspection reports, and completing repairs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Perform tests and inspections on wet, dry, antifreeze, and pre-action fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, fire hydrants, and related systems including backflow devices.
· Installs, maintains, repairs, or replaces fire sprinkler equipment and systems in strict accordance with applicable codes and standards.
· Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues and report results of work completed in an accurate, timely manner.
· Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25.
· Protect and maintain company equipment.
· Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment. observing all safety regulations and manufacturer's safety instructions for that equipment.
· Maintain a safe and secure work environment by, following safe practices and respecting confidential customer information.
· Ability to follow direction and work independently when needed.
· Perform other duties assigned by management.
· Desire to grow in other areas of Life Safety, i.e., Test and Inspection of Fire Extinguishers and/or Fire Alarms.
Position Requirements:
· Utah Certified AF2 or equivalent NICET.
· Nevada G-Automatic Fire Sprinkler System Certification or ability to obtain in a timely manner.
· Utah Backflow Assembly Tester or ability to obtain in a timely manner.
· Verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills with little or no supervision.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule with occasional travel including out of town jobs.
· Ability to obtain industry certifications.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to display knowledge of principles and practices of fire safety.
· Ability to display knowledge of codes and regulations related to the work.
· Ability to display knowledge of basic practices of reviewing official documents for completeness and accuracy.
· Ability to act in a lead capacity.
· Ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs.
