Safety patroller

Job Description:

Safety patrol monitors the mountain, promoting a safe environment for guests and
employees. This position will report directly to the Ski Patrol to assist them in daily activities.
Safety patrol will not administer first aid.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•  Assess and mitigate hazards and safety concerns within the Resort ski area.
•  Maintain Resort ski area signs, ropes, and padding.
•  Educate guests on proper conduct and safety measures.
•  Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and timely.
•  Perform sweeps at the end of the day to ensure that all guests and employees are safely off the mountain.
•  Special duties may include performing chair lift evacuations, search and rescue, and avalanche miitigation. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

•  Must be at least 18 years of age.
•  Must demonstrate advanced to expert skiing or snowboarding with the ability to safely navigate any area of the mountain in all weather and snow conditions
•  Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•  Must have a strong work ethic and self-motivation.
•  Must work well with a team and collaborate with others regularly.
•  Must be committed to maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees.
•  Must have a working knowledge of all emergency and evacuation procedures.
•  Must exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs.
•  Must be able to work at high altitudes for an extended period.
•  Must be able to work for an extended periods of time in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and/or wind.
