Description
The Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic position ensures the vehicles and mechanical equipment that keep the ski slopes and trails available to use all winter long are impeccably maintained. This role is perfect for someone who has a genuine passion for building and repairing many types of equipment to Give People the Freedom to ski.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs maintenance inspections and resulting repairs on fleet including trucks, vans, snow removal equipment, transportation equipment and snowcats.

Diagnose and repair mechanical defects associated with hydraulic, electrical, cooling, lubrication and power systems on a wide variety of vehicles/equipment.

Rebuild engines, transmissions, differentials, carburetors and hydraulic pumps and motors.

Spearhead department administrative duties, including parts procurement, work order review, cost analysis, scheduling repairs, and performing inspections.

Maintain accurate and precise recording of daily activities on work orders, indirect labor logs, and parts requisitions.

Safely drive company vehicles/equipment with automatic, standard, hydrostatic, or powershift transmissions.

Assist the entire mountain operations with any tasks, as needed and assigned.
Other Responsibilities:

Consistently collaborate with all mountain operations departments to contribute to mountain-wide communication and safety.

Produce high employee morale, motivation and guest satisfaction in an atmosphere of continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and other laws governing personnel environment and equipment safety for the purpose of ensuring safety in the workplace.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of heavy equipment/diesel mechanics.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical tools and equipment
- Skill in Google Workspaces and standard computer interfaces.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to perform in inclement weather conditions and terrain for sustained periods.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, any hours of the day, any days of the week.
Experience/Qualifications:
- At least three years of vehicle maintenance field experience is required.
- A valid, current, unrestricted driver’s license is required.
