Description
(FT or PT Winter Seasonal Position) The Vehicle Maintenance Shop Helper requires knowledge and ability to procure parts, perform light to medium mechanical repairs and housekeeping duties associated with the mountain shop.
Qualifications
Essential Job Functions:
- Physical mobility to efficiently complete tasks; lifting objects weighing 30 to 75 pounds, working on/under/inside vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand appropriate materials and apply them.
- Ability to work safely inside, or outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to work with hand and power tools.
- Ability to Town Run (see Town Runner Job Description).
- Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
- Ability to work on an "on call" basis, weekends, holidays and various shifts.
- Posses an insurable driving record.
Duties & Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
- Safely work in the mountain shop assisting the mechanics or performing light to medium mechanical repairs on vehicles or equipment.
- Housekeeping duties of the vehicles and mountain shop.
- Efficiently drive ¾ to 1-ton type vehicles equipped with automatic or standard transmissions while procuring parts and supplies.
Education / Training / License(s) / Certification(s) Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must provide all hand tools
- Valid Driver's License with three year MVR report
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the work day is spent outdoors in constantly changing weather conditions, including snow, extreme cold and wet in winter and heat, thunder and lightning storms in summer.
- Frequently lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Occasionally pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Frequently using and monitoring controls that operate electrical systems. Frequently climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching. Noise levels reach 115 decibels while doing lift terminal inspections during the day. Frequent exposure to electrical hazards, frequent mechanical hazards, cold weather, snow and icy conditions.
- Must be able to acclimate and work at high elevations up to 11,500 ft.
