OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: Operation and maintenance of all aspects of coal handing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs operation of underground utility, longwall, and/or continuous mining machines and perform underground coal mine labor functions.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED; may consider equivalent experience
- Underground MSHA safety training
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively complete job duties with minimal supervision
- Previous experience as a longwall or continuous mining machine operator.
- MSHA Electrical Card (low, medium, high voltage-surface) preferred
- Previous experience as an underground productivity/utility miner
- Environmental compliance experience
- Colorado Mine Foreman Certification, MSHA Electrical Certification, Shotfirer, Gas and Dust certifications desired.
