What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Support Specialist -Substance Abuse- 3rd shift position at Mountain Comprehensive Care Center?
Peer Support Specialist staff is needed for 24 hour Women's Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Facility. Full time, third shift (12 am to 8 am) week days and weekends (Wednesday through Sunday). High School degree or GED equivalent and sufficient experience to perform the position at a satisfactory level are required. Knowledge of and personal experience with substance abuse recovery required and must be documented in resume for interview. Must have two years of recovery completed. Qualified candidates must demonstrate that they are working through a substance abuse recovery process and have an interest in working with individuals who have a severe and persistent mental illness as well as substance abuse issues.
All shifts needed, specifically first and thirds and weekend only shifts available. HS or GED required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Peer Support Specialist Certification preferred. Experience with leadership and advocacy in the field of mental health, as well as the ability to demonstrate efforts at self-directed recovery. Must have valid Kentucky motor vehicle operator’s license.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of and personal experience with public mental health services. Strong reading comprehension and written communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to communicate with others in a professional manner.
