What are the responsibilities and job description for the HSE Coordinator position at Mountain Creek Contractors?
Duties:
Conduct weekly Site Safety Investigations (SSI) alongside the Safety Officer to various jobsites across the state. Record all SSI reports and hand out PPE. Be the eyes and ears of the Safety Officer
Properly log all accident reports according to OSHA regulations in the OSHA 300 Log. Go to accident jobsites and help the superintendents with all the Workers Comp paperwork (when applicable).
Assist HSE Manager with yearly required NCDOT / Federal documentation.
Assist HSE Manager with EEO requirement from NCDOT & Federal. Attending EEO Meetings and assisting to implement & train all staff on EEO matters.
Assist in running errands for miscellaneous Superintendent needs including additional documents (accident reports, inspection forms, etc.), PPE, materials, truck lights, etc.
Providing Safety Officer with a schedule of when safety equipment boxes will be arriving to jobsites to make sure all the boxes are stocked.
Log/Monitor/Track and update manager on all project PPE needs. Order necessary PPE for all jobs on all projects (with approval) and delivery to jobsite.
Willingness to attend training courses & obtain NCDOT / General Construction safety certificates.
Keep up with employee training and make sure all employees are up to date with necessary training as mandated by the DOT.
Log all MCC employee training documentation in HCSS (company’s employee database). Maintain a log for all expiring trainings and set up upcoming training classes for Manager.
Requirements:
Heavy travel daily to NC and SC job sites
Office Suite experience- Word and Excel
Construction background or related experience
Public Speaking experience
Attention to detail
Willing to learn new skills
