What are the responsibilities and job description for the HOMEMAKER position at MOUNTAIN EMPIRE OLDER CITIZENS INC?
This position is responsible for the care and well-being of elderly person/persons in the home setting through the routine maintenance of the household. The homemaker will perform necessary light household tasks, cooking, running errands, shopping and occasional bill paying for the client/clients.
- Maintains household for elderly client/clients to the maximum extent possible to allow for independence and prevention of institutionalization.
- Provides essential homemaking services for clients, as assigned.
- Provides assistance with personal bill paying, as needed.
- Maintains relationships with clients in an empathetic and understanding manner.
- Keeps supervisor apprised of any changes in working conditions or functioning in the household so that services may be adjusted accordingly.
- Performs shopping assistance and errands using personal automobile for short trips.
- Maintains all required records and submits all required paperwork to supervisor in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participates in Agency fundraising events, as requested by supervisor.
- Attends all meetings, as required by the agency, to ensure current knowledge of areas of responsibility.
- Displays an interest and enthusiasm in on-going Agency sponsored development activities; supports company efforts with consistent participation and attendance.
- Performs on the job to the best of ability at all times.
- Exhibits professional presence, consistent with agency standards and values.
- Interacts with agency personnel to facilitate positive, productive relationships.
- Maintains highest degree of confidentiality in all aspects of client relations and agency operations.
- Provides positive assistance and support at all times when dealing with staff and clients.
- Researches and/or recommends new processes, procedures and applications which can better serve agency or client needs.
