What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Materials Retail Associate position at Mountain Hardware and Sports?
As a Building Materials Retail Associate at Mountain Hardware and Sports you'll be working in our outdoor yard or (shed) area helping customers locate and load up building materials (lumber, pipe, cement, etc.), filling propane tanks, and making cuts to lumber and other building materials. You'll assemble BBQs, patio furniture, snow blowers, and more, keeping our outdoor product selection ready for any season. This is an active role where you'll be lifting heavy items, operating machinery, and staying on your feet. Schedule: full-time (40hrs/week)
Duties and Responsibilities

- Greet and assist customers with finding products, answering questions, and providing detailed product knowledge
- Provide expert advice on selecting appropriate materials for specific projects
- Drive and operate forklift to load building materials safely into vehicles
- Drive and operate a work vehicle to deliver materials to customers' locations
- Perform cuts to wood and other materials using tools such as pipe threaders, propane pumps, panel saws, chop saws, and drills
- Assemble items such as BBQs, patio furniture, and snow blowers
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be able to work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years or older
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Must have ability to lift up to 100lbs
- Must have ability to use a ladder
- Must have the ability to work outdoors for 8 hours daily in varying seasonal temperatures
- Ability to use provided computer, programs, and technology-based equipment when needed
- Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced, confined environment while maintaining focus and efficiency
- Ability to multi-task
