Company Description
Mountain Lake Lodge is a historic, boutique year-round resort in SW Virginia. It is most known for it's role as the filming location for the 1986 cult classic Dirty Dancing. The resort offers seven "Kellerman's Mountain House" immersive weekends a year where guests can relive their favorite scenes in the movie. These weekends are sold out a year in advance.
The resort also hosts up to 50 weddings a year, Executive Retreats, Family Reunions, and Corporate Meetings. There are three F&B outlets: Harvest (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner), Stony Creek Tavern, and Salt Pond Pub. This key position will work with a very talented F&B Team: Executive Chef, Sous Chef, F&B Director/Sommelier, and other F&B Managers.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Director of Banquets at Mountain Lake Lodge located near Blacksburg, VA. The Director of Banquets will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquet operations, including food & beverage service, customer satisfaction, set-up, and event execution.
Qualifications
- Food & Beverage and Catering skills
- Customer Satisfaction and Customer Service skills
- Budgeting skills (payroll and purchasing banquet equipment)
- Experience in banquet operations management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Previous experience in hospitality industry
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field
- Must be an excellent communicator and have the ability to consistently follow through
