Your Role
The Assistant SBA Loan Documentation Specialist will assist with a variety of processing and closing functions, including review of submitted documentation for completeness and accuracy, and ensuring all due diligence of each loan has been met in accordance with the SBA Authorization and in compliance with the Bank’s internal loan approval and policies. This position coordinates with Business Development Officers, SBA Underwriters, Credit Administration, and customers to ensure all documentation is in place prior to underwriting or submission to the SBA. The Assistant SBA Loan Documentation Specialist is also responsible for remaining current on SBA Standard Operating Procedures, compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Essential Responsibilities

- Assist the SBA team members by performing second review of prepared loan packages prior to documents being sent to credit analysists or lenders.
- Assist in reviewing for completeness and accepting the requested SBA internal checklist items as they are received from brokers/lenders/clients.
- Complete SBA forms including 1920 when needed.
- Assist in loan write-up preparation.
- Assist the SBA Loan Closer in reviewing equity injection and loan disbursement documentation to ensure with loan program requirements.
- Assist in obtaining corporate documents for legal entity review.
- Complete UCC searches, title searches, and credit reports.
- Assist in submitting the necessary IRS verification form.
- Assist the SBA Loan Closer for getting hazard and/or flood insurance, and other required insurance.
- Ensure that loan documentation is properly imaged into the system of record.
- Assist with and manage transition of loan file from closing to servicing.
- Assist and perform the post-closing audit of SBA and USDA loan files and manage the tracking and clearing of all outstanding loan documents, post-closing and/or loan exception items identified.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- Working knowledge of SBA and Commercial loan documents.
- Knowledge of SBA title, escrow, and loan closing processes, workflows, and functions.
- Basic understanding of regulatory requirements and ability to understand and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to interact positively and effectively with all levels of employees, management, and third parties.
- Proficient computer skills, including accurate data entry and ability to balance production with data integrity.
- Ability to work independently with self-direction and minimal oversight, and as part of a team in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 0-1 years of experience in SBA/Commercial Loan Documentation
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to remain in a stationary position and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a multi-line telephone, copy machine, scanner, fax, and computer printer. - This is a full-time, in-person position: Monday through Friday; 40 hours per week.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
